My name is Miguel Harry, I’m a Colombian designer and artist based in Seattle, WA.

I graduated from ArtCenter’s Product Design program in 2018. Since then I’ve had the opportunity of working with companies such as Gensler, Adidas, Google, Microsoft and Square.

I work as an Industrial Designer during the week and I spend my weekends drawing, taking photos or tattooing out of my private studio.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

A: Since I don’t have a permanent studio at the moment, my availability is sporadic and not very consistent. I will announce on instagram when I have some openings coming up.

I will not be booking through instagram DMs anymore. There will be a button at the end of this page that will take you to my booking page. There will be different appointment types that you can choose from, depending on what you want to get. The button may not work if my books are closed.

If the link works but there are no appointments available my books may have filled up. Please keep an eye on my instagram for next time I have an opening.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

A: Most of my individual flash pieces range between $200-$400. My minimum for any appointment at the moment is $275 including tax. I don’t accept tips. I will require a $100 deposit to book, this deposit will go towards the total cost of your tattoo.

If you have a budget in mind, please let me know at the beginning of your appointment and we can figure out the right piece, size and placement to stay within your budget. If you’re getting multiple tattoos. most pieces will be within the price range listed above but some may go under or over depending on size, complexity and placement.

Q: CAN I CHOOSE A FLASH PIECE BEFORE BOOKING?

A: Short answer: No.

Long answer: All my new flash is repeatable (starting September 2023), and while I don’t ask you to choose a piece beforehand it is helpful for you to look through the current flash book and come to your appointment with a few pieces in mind. No pressure though, you’ll have some time to look through the flash book at the beginning of your session.

I love to draw and I add pieces to my flash book almost daily. I may retire certain pieces if I have done them too many times or they are older than a few months. Trying to keep things fresh for everyone involved!

Q: DO YOU DO CUSTOM TATTOOS?

A: Short answer: No.

While I have a ton of respect for artists that do customs, I find that I thrive tattooing from my flash book. I draw things that interest me and that resonate with me either in subject matter or simply aesthetics.I work strictly from my flash book and can’t accomodate any changes to my flash at the moment.
I upload a few flash pieces to my instagram every other day, there is more flash to look through here as well as in person, the day of your appointment.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

A: If you need to reschedule please email me (miguel@abstractmaterial.com) more than 72 hours before your appointment. The more time you give me, the easier it is for me to fill your previous spot.

You can transfer your booking deposit once if you reschedule more than 72 hours in advance. If you need to reschedule a second time or less than 72 hours in advance I will ask for another deposit.

If you are more than 15 minutes late or don’t show up to your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited. No-call no-shows will not be able to book in the future.

Deposits are non-refundable unless I have to cancel our appointment, in which case I will issue a refund and reach out to you to reschedule as soon as possible.
Q: WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

A: I am currently in between studio spaces. I will announce on my instagram whenever I have a guest spot coming up or whenever I have a permanent studio space.

If you booked an appointment and have not received address info 2 days prior, please email me (miguel@abstractmaterial.com) and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Q: MY TATTOO NEEDS A TOUCH UP,  HOW CAN I BOOK ONE?

A: Please email me at miguel@abstractmaterial.com anytime to schedule a touch. up, and I will try to make time for it ASAP. I suggest waiting ~6 weeks after your tattoo to see how it settles on your skin. We can also touch up a previous tattoo at the end of a new appointment, just let me know in advance! (I will not touch up tattoos made by someone else).

I want to make sure your tattoo looks great in the long run and that you’re stoked with it.

Q: CAN I BOOK FOR MULTIPLE TATTOOS IN ONE SESSION?

A: Of course, please select the right appointment type using the booking link. If no double sessions are available, please book a small tattoo session and depending on time we can possibly do a second piece.

Q: CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME AND A FRIEND?

A: I will go back to offering ‘friends sessions’ when I am back in a permanent studio space, in the meantime I am prioritizing single client sessions.

Q: CAN I HAVE YOUR WORK TATTOOED BY SOMEONE ELSE?

A: Short answer: No.

Long answer: Since I only tattoo things once, it is my promise to my clients that they are getting a one-of-a-kind piece of art on their body forever. I would like to keep that promise.

If you like any of my work and can’t get tattooed by me, it is ok to work with another artist to create a new tattoo inspired by my drawings but not traced or copied exactly.

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TATTOOING?

A: I am still fairly new to tattooing. My tattoo journey started on March 2022. I’m still learning and hope to still be learning and perfecting my skills for a long time. I am constantly trying to improve my linework and overall technique and I offer free touch ups for the first year if they are needed as your tattoo settles on your body

Q: WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?

A:
I use Triple Black Ink from Dynamic Color which is vegan, not tested on animals and one of the darkest blacks you can get. I also use high quality needle cartridges from Black Claw (some are bio-based).

Most of my single-use supplies (ink caps, machine bags, gloves and barriers) are compostable. I am working everyday to reduce the amount of plastic waste in my practice.
